How it is structured

Working together for a set time period is the best formula for success as a 'one-off' appointment is unlikely to help you make effective changes. I am 100% committed to helping you achieve your best possible results and in return, I ask for COMMITMENT

My Approach
The Proven Way

I use testing to assess the GIT tract therefore each client can see for themselves what’s happening on the inside of their body and what may be the connection with presenting symptoms, so we can get to the root problem.

FAQs

Can I have sessions with a nutritionist online or by phone?

Yes, Lots of nutrition professionals offer dietary support and advice online and over the phone, and this can be beneficial for clients who cannot attend face-to-face sessions

What can you expect from a nutritional therapist?

A nutritional therapist assesses a person’s nutritional needs to achieve optimal physiological function. This means the maintenance of homeostasis, a position of wellbeing we all seek, but many fail to achieve. Nutritional therapy is not a one pill wonder: it is a change in lifestyle to bring your body back to optimum health. Although you may see some immediate improvements it can take the body time to come back into balance.

Is nutritional therapy a substitution for seeking medical advice?

It’s important to remember that nutritional therapy is not intended as a substitute for medical advice and if a practitioner identifies any 'red flag' symptoms indicative of a serious health issue, they will refer clients on to an appropriate medical professional.

What takes place at the Initial consultation?

During your initial consultation we focus on:

MYMOP FORM – Measure Yourself Medical Outcome Profile, where we assess your main symptoms

We look at – Previous medical history, Prescription medications – past and present, Herbal and natural supplement, Family history. We dig deeper into our body systems – such as gastrointestinal tract, nervous system, endocrine function, reproductive systems, allergies and immunity, respiratory tract, urinary tract, cardiovascular system, musculo-skeletal system, skin. We discuss food intake.

What happens at the Follow-up consultation?

We discuss compliance with the initial plan and achievements, successes, challenges and how we can move forward.

How much does it cost?

The initial consultation is £89. Follow up consultations are £59. Or there is an option of buying a package for £187 (this includes 1 x initial consultation and 2 x follow ups) The package option is the most popular and is also the most successful in helping clients attain their desirable results. The package can be spread over 3 months which helps motivate clients to become committed to new lifestyle changes and achieving long term results.

Alternatively, I am available for one off, 30 minute consultations (cost £30) Please follow the link on the homepage for the 'free consultation'

How many consultations will I need?

There is no specific quantity or rule on how many consultations you will need. This will depend very much on your personal circumstances and what your health objectives are. Clients ask for advice at different stages of their life for different problems.

Do I have to have any functional testing done?

It is advisable to have specific test done because this will help us to dig deeper into your health concern and eliminates any guess work in our nutritional protocol. Testing show us what’s going on internally, and we can target specific areas. These functional tests are comprehensive and provide great overview how our body works. Certain, more simple tests can be done through you GP such as assessment of vitamin D status, Ferritin levels etc.

What My Clients Are Saying About Me

Matthew

"I have suffered from memory problems, a poor quality of sleep, raised cholesterol and a general high level of stress for a few years. I have been working with Martina for over 2 years now, she has advised me to have a variety of health tests, She has also offered advice on diet and supplements, I have removed various food groups and introduced a variety of new foods to help my body. I now have a 3 monthly appointment with her. Martina has helped me feel more focused during the day, help maintain my memory to a reasonable standard and I do have now more restful sleep at night."

"I started my sessions with Martina in January 2021, due to acid reflux and other health issues, which I had tried to resolve by cutting down on meat and exercising, which seemed to work for a while. However, I ended up with low iron and acid reflux. From the beginning I have enjoyed working with Martina. She's a great listener and has shown a lot of care and understanding regarding my health concerns. At our first meeting she advised on foods to eat and to avoid, due to acid reflux; a digestive analysis with Genova diagnostics was also advised, which I arranged shortly after our meeting. Other advice included: hydration, herbal teas, lunch/supper ideas and supplement recommendations. These changes in diet have helped me to think more about what I eat and to include more plant based, legumes and fermented foods in my diet, like sauerkraut, using Martina's recipe. In the following session, we had received the results of my digestive diagnostic test, which showed I had some functional imbalance issues with my gut. Martina was able to explain the main areas of concern and provide a nutrition and wellness plan to emphasise the type of food I needed to eat and recommended supplements to help restore my gut health, as well as details on where to buy my products. In a recent session, I was able to share with Martina some improvement in my acid reflux and overall health. As a consequence of following her advice, I feel my health has improved, but since I'm not out of the woods yet, I plan to continue my sessions with Martina. I would definitely recommend Martina to anyone looking for a Nutritional Therapist."
